Bound to the Ground, Touched by the Light

Bound to the ground, yet touched by the light that remembers every shape.

I first met Lindsay Kaan on a FaceTime call with my best friend Marco Cruz at True Dance Potential. She jumped right in, explaining that she needed senior photos, headshots, dance photos — all of it. There was no hesitation. She knew exactly what she wanted, and that kind of clarity stood out immediately.

I haven’t known Lindsay for very long, but it doesn’t take long to recognize determination when it’s right in front of you. She carries herself with focus and intention, the kind that doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful. Every time she steps in front of the camera, there’s purpose behind it — a sense that she understands where she’s going and isn’t afraid of the work it takes to get there.

Lindsay was recently accepted to the University of South Carolina, where she’s continuing on a path inspired by her mom, who works in the medical field. Watching someone balance their love for dance while stepping confidently into an academic future like that is something I deeply respect. It speaks to discipline, drive, and a strong sense of self.

This session wasn’t just about creating images — it was about documenting a turning point. The moment where one chapter begins to close and another starts to take shape. The grounded strength in her movement, paired with that lightness she brings into a space, made this work feel honest and meaningful.

Lindsay, thank you for trusting me with such an important season of your life. Your determination, clarity, and confidence are already taking you exactly where you’re meant to go. I’m so excited to see what’s ahead for you.

Let's Connect

I work with dancers and creatives across the United States, creating portrait and movement imagery that captures transition, growth, and identity. If you’re looking to document a milestone or tell your story through images — wherever you’re based — I’d love to connect.
